Impact created the A Living History Website for the Health Resources and Services (HRSA), HIV/AIDS Bureau’s Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, as a place where valuable historic and programmatic information about the Program could be added and updated regularly. IMC painstakingly researched archives and Congressional records, and also interviewed seminal players in the Program’s early narrative. After collecting more than two decades’ worth of historical data and stories, IMC carefully selected information about the Program chronicling the following:

  • A timeline that records major milestones for the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program

  • The Program’s legislative and funding history

  • Major themes that have surrounded the epidemic and the actions that HRSA has taken in response.

A case study elaborating on Impact’s creation of the A Living History Website can accessed under Related Work.

The Website’s audio interviews of patients and their caregivers, providers, and champions of the HIV/AIDS movement have been featured at many national conferences and federal interagency meetings, and have been used to jump start patient support group discussions and inform continuing education for providers.
